President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has held a virtual meeting with the Singapore Cooperation Enterprises -SCE- team.
The Singapore Cooperation Enterprises was led by its Chief Executive Officer KONG WY MUN.
President HICHILEMA says during the meeting, the two compared notes on various matters among them how to spur foreign and local investment by tackling unnecessary bureaucracy that is often a root cause for corruption and other vices.
He says Government is keen to learn how Singapore Cooperation Enterprises, an agency formed by the Singaporean government in 2006, responds to pressure arising from foreign companies that wish to tap into Singapore’s development experience, and how they eliminate bottlenecks that slow down the flow of investment.
President HICHILEMA says the UPND Administration’s Agenda is to grow the economy and transform the country which is endowed with natural resources, into a prosperous nation that will provide jobs and business opportunities for all people.
The Head of State says Government is determined to turn the fortunes of being land linked, by tapping into regional trading blocs and turn the country into a hub of trade and investment.
According to the President’s Facebook page and monitored by ZNBC News, The President said Singapore provides experience, as it has turned its economy around in record time under its leader LEE KUAN YEW, whose legacy lives on to-date.
President HICHILEMA said ZAMBIA is keen on learning this.
The President is grateful that the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise has shown keen interest in Zambia and the New Dawn’s development agenda.
