Siavonga town council has embarked on dog killing exercise to in order to curb and control rabies in the district
Siavonga town council Public Relations Officer Gwendolyn Mchenga revealed that the district has recorded a number of rabies cases.
Ms Mchenga desclosed that the local authority is killing all unvaccinated, unregistered and stray dogs to prevent further spread of the rabies disease.
She further urged dog owners to vaccinate and register they dogs.
Adding that this is not the end of the exercise as the local authority will do this exercise for the next week.
Ms Muchenga said this in an interview with Kariba FM news.
Speaking after vaccinating his dog mr herbert Mutapa expressed happiness and encouraged other dog owners to vaccinate they dogs to prevent rabies.
Game was the first compound were the exercise was conducted.
