SUPREME COURT REVERSES POST NEWSPAPER LIQUIDATION

The Supreme Court has reversed the Liquidation of the defunct Post Newspaper Limited.

This follows the successful appeal by former Newspaper’s Editor in-Chief FRED M’MEMBE.

The Supreme Court has observed that the appointment of the Provisional Liquidator of the Post Newspaper Limited was done outside the prescription of the wind up rules.

During the High Court proceedings few years ago, some former Post Newspaper Limited Employees including ABEL MBOOZI, ROY HABAALU, MWENDALUBI MWENE and BONAVENTURE BWALYA filed the petition to wind up the company.

The petitioners claimed that the company owed them salaries and emoluments amounting to over 8-hundred and 15 thousand KWACHA.

Further the Zambia Revenue Authority -ZRA contended that the defunct Post Newspaper Limited had failed to honour tax obligations.
