USE CDF PRUDENTLY, MWEETWA URGES SOUTH COUNCILS

Southern Province Minister Cornelius Mweetwa has urged all the COUNCILS in the province to use the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) prudently through consultations with the general public.
Mr Mweetwa said the CDF should be made to benefit the local people and improve their standard of living.
Choma Maanu’s radio staffer Blessed Hamungala reports that the southern province minister was Speaking as guest of honour during the “International Women’s Day cerebrations which was held at Choma Independence Stadium today.
The minister also urged civil servants to be professional and deliver quality service to the public.
Mr Mweetwa said, the province occupies a very unique and special place in the developmental and gender trajectory of the new administration as it provides quite a diversity of economic activities which it seeks to explore to foster development.
He said he was aware that southern province was endowed with minerals and it is emerging to provide alternatives in terms of mining and the government is keeping a very close eye on its mineral activities.
And Mr Mweetwa has said that under the new administration, no civil servant should be worried about being retired in national interest.
He said this is because this was established as a window for political persecution and victimisation of civil servants by the former regime.
This year’s “International Women’s Day cerebration”, was commemorated under the theme, “gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow break the bias.
