Zambia has lost about 60 percent of animal species such as, birds among others since 1970s, due to the negligence of human kind

A research conducted by the World Wide Fund for Nature has revealed that  to preserve nature.
According to the WWF research, human error has also contributed to the depletion of forests a situation which is now becoming worse than before and if nothing is done to address the situation, the future generation will be negatively affected.
Presenting the research findings last night during the stakeholders meeting, WWF Country Director Nachilala Nkombo noted the need for Traditional leaders and Civil Society – including churches to be in forefront to advocate for conservation of nature.
And Chief Ishima of the Lunda speaking people of Zambezi District in North Western province has called on government to extend the sensitisation programmes on conservation of nature to rural areas as opposed to sticking to the urban areas
